What it takes to be hired as an Amazon DSP delivery driver
Requirements to drive for an Amazon Delivery Service Partner: age, license, background check, drug screen, physical demands, pay and the hiring steps.
The basics
21 or older, a valid driver license in your state, authorization to work in the US, and a motor vehicle record without recent DUI, reckless driving or excessive points. A background check and drug screen through the DSP's Amazon-approved provider.
The physical side
Delivery associates lift and carry packages up to 50 pounds repeatedly, climb in and out of the van 150 to 200 times a shift, and walk several miles a day. Shifts run 8 to 10 hours, four or five days a week, with weekend days common.
Pay
Most DSPs pay $18 to $24 an hour depending on market, with overtime at peak, safety bonuses and some paying a daily rate. The DSP, not Amazon, is your employer.
How hiring works through RosterReady
Apply once on our jobs page. We phone screen within two business days, the DSP runs the screening, and we introduce you for a road test and ride-along. You are hired and paid by the DSP; we never charge drivers.
Do I need my own vehicle?
No. DSPs provide branded vans. A clean personal driving record is what matters.
Need road-test-ready drivers?
