WOTC for delivery contractors: up to $2,400 per eligible driver
How FedEx Ground ISPs and Amazon DSPs claim the Work Opportunity Tax Credit on driver hires, who qualifies, the 28-day deadline and the paperwork.
Who qualifies
Veterans, SNAP and TANF recipients, people unemployed 27 weeks or more, SSI recipients, ex-felons within a year of release, designated community residents and vocational rehabilitation referrals. In most delivery driver pools, one in four new hires is in at least one group.
What it is worth
40 percent of the first $6,000 in wages (up to $2,400) for an employee who works 400 hours or more; 25 percent for 120 to 399 hours. Certain veteran categories go up to $9,600.
The deadline that kills it
IRS Form 8850 must be submitted to your state workforce agency within 28 days of the start date. Miss it and the credit is gone. Build it into onboarding.
How we help
Our phone screen flags likely eligibility, the candidate completes the pre-screen questionnaire before the road test, and we hand you the completed 8850 and 9061 with the hire so your payroll company or CPA can file.
Need road-test-ready drivers?
Plans from $399 a month for Amazon DSPs and $449 for FedEx Ground ISPs, with a guaranteed minimum of candidates.
